Among the Many was presented at Photospace Gallery in Wellington's CBD

After researching, writing proposals, photographing, editing and selecting images, I chose the dissemination method of a gallery exhibition to reach my audience of the Wellington public. This project also included a personal narrative, this space made a comfortable setting to present it to my community.
I printed five photographs on polyester fabric at 600mm x 1800mm, which were suspended from the ceiling and placed in circular fashion in Gallery 3 of Photospace Gallery. The materiality of my prints emphasises the emotive qualities and fluidity of the crowd that contribute to the event atmosphere. Through scale, cropping, lighting and accompanying audio, my audience could become immersed, recreating and reliving the affective atmosphere. This allowed an opportunity to gain an understanding of how people act in public gatherings and the internal and external factors that can influence this.
